My concrete driveway has small chips like it is corroding away slowly. Over the last few months we’ve noticed more and more chips appearing. It’s like the surface near the chips are slightly flaking up. The house is only about 3-4 yrs old. Is this common? How do I fix it and/or keep it from happening more?

Flaking could be due to, too much surface water added during finishing, premature toweling before the bleed water was off, or the concrete was poured during cold weather.
Chipping in association with the flaking could be from tiny air/and or moisture pockets that have expanded, to little Portland used, or the concrete mixture may be flawed.
What can you do ….not much. You can patch or try a skim coat application, but it stands out like a zit on prom night.
if you use salt in the winter time on new concrete it will make it chip. you can get the concrete sealed to prevent that.
